Animal farming subsidy schemes
Government of India has launched several new schemes under National Livestock Mission in July 2021. These schemes will be implemented throughout India.
Main objective of scheme is
1 Employment generation through entrepreneurship development in small ruminant, poultry and piggery sector & Fodder sector under
2 Increase animal production of meat, egg, goat milk, wool through breed improvement.
3.Increase availability of feed & fodder & strengthening the fodder seed supply chain and availability of certified fodder seeds.
4.Establishment of fodder processing units to reduce the demand supply gap.
5 .Promoting applied research in prioritized areas of poultry, sheep, goat, feed and fodder
- Promoting skill based training and dissemination of technologies for reducing cost of production
NLM has 3 sub- missions:-
1.Breed Development of Livestock and Poultry
2.Feed and Fodder Development
- Innovation and Extension
Some of the main subsidy schemes under NLM are given below
(1000 poultry parent stock to get 500 hatching egg per day)
to get 2250 day old chick (doc) & mother unit for brooding 2000 chicks upto 4weeks
- Sheep and goat entrepreneurship for establishment of breeder goat farm of 500 females and 25maleSheep and Goat
- Piggery entrepreneurship (100 sow and 10 boar)
- Silage making unit for entrepreneurs (Production capacity 2000-2400 MT per annum)
6.Fodder block making unit for entrepreneurship (30 MT/day)
