GOVERNMENT OF INDIA SCHEME

Objectives:-

1.Encourage commercial rearing of pigs by adopting scientific methods and creation of infrastructure

2.Production and supply of improved germ plasm

3.Organizing stakeholders to popularize scientific practices

  1. Create supply chain for pork industry

5 Encourage value addition for better income

Beneficiaries :- Farmers, individual entrepreneurs, NGOs, Companies, Cooperatives, Groups of organized and unorganized sector which include Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Joint Liability Groups (JLGs).

Types of Areas:

NORMAL AREAS: All areas which do not fall under the subsequent categories.

NORTH EAST REGION: Seven NE States and Sikkim.

HILL AREAS

DIFFICULT AREAS: Notified Difficult Areas like Leh, Ladakh, Kargil areas, areas

above 11,000 ft. height from mean sea level as well as difficult islands.
